Challenge a Knight

12:00 Noon and 2:30 pm by the Arena –
Two 40 minute shows each day

See videos of the 2026 SMSF fights

The Duel, 2 Knight Show

The Duel pits 2 Knights in 3 rounds of combat.ย  Each round they must use a different weapon.

In between each round, to give them a brief rest, our MC gets audience involvement when talking about the evolution of medieval armour, medieval helmets, and/or medieval weapons.

We also choose a monarch to oversee the fighting.

At the end of the show, we encourage the audience to meet with the Knights and other performers.ย  We have a medieval display table and store to visit.

Challenge a Knight

Parents love this show as they get to watch their child fight against one of our Knights.ย  The young challenger must wear a tabard and a medieval plastic helmet.ย  They both use a foam sword, but they must respect the honour of the list.ย  They must bow at the start of the duel to their opponent to show respect and they must give the Knight a High 5 at the end of the match to show that they are still friends.

Lawn Tractor Pull 2026

an Exciting Annual Event

The 4-H Clubโ€™s Lawn Tractor Pull is one of the favourite annual events at the Sunderland Maple Syrup Festival.

This year the action gets underway at 11:30 on Sunday, ย at the corner of Albert St. near River St.

The lawn tractors are modified by the 4-H members themselves, and designed to pull weighted sleds. The SMSF event will be a demonstration only, but itโ€™s good practice for the 4-H kids who will be entering competitions later in the year.

This attraction is lots of fun for visitors to watch, and even more fun for the competitors!

Petting Zoo & Pony Rides 2026

Welcome to the new age in Petting Zoos, where the world’s animals come together in an interactive and educational environment. The young and the young at heart will enjoy petting, feeding & learning about the animals that most have only read about or seen on TV.

Watch the children’s faces light up as they ride a live pony for the first time. Don’t forget your camera as you will want to keep this proud moment for all to see.

The Tiger Paw Exotics petting zooย and pony rides are located beside the arena. While the petting zoo is free, pony rides are $5 per ride.
